TyresLiverpool.uk privacy policy
What we collect and why
1. Searching for tyres
If you search by your registration, the registration and the postcode you enter are used to work out the sizes that fit the car and the closest fitting centres. It is our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, that answers the lookup, since it holds the vehicle and centre data; the search is not linked to you and it is not kept here beyond ordinary server logs. A search by tyre size needs no personal information, not even a postcode.
2. The centre finder
The "nearest to you" finder on the fitting pages uses postcodes.io, a public postcode service, to turn your postcode into coordinates, which is how the centres are put in order of distance from you. What you type there is never written to storage by this site, in any form.
3. Maps and weather
Map images come from OpenStreetMap tiles, fetched by your browser from openstreetmap.org, which means OpenStreetMap receives your IP address as any website does. The local weather shown on some pages is requested by our server from the Met Office (or MET Norway if that is unavailable) for Liverpool as a whole; nothing about you is sent to either.
4. Cookies and logs
You will find no advertising or analytics cookies on TyresLiverpool.uk, and nothing on it tracks you, so nothing follows you around the web from here. TyresLiverpool.uk is hosted by Vercel, which holds routine server logs, IP address, browser type and pages requested, briefly for security and to keep the site running; they are not used to identify you.
5. When you buy
When you choose a tyre and press buy, you are taken from here to Tyres.co.uk, our fulfilment partner, and the order completes there. The details an order needs, name, address, payment, vehicle and the fitting booking, are collected and processed by Tyres.co.uk under its own privacy policy, which sets out how that information is used and how you can exercise your rights over it.
6. Reviews
All the reviews published here come from verified buyers through Tyres.co.uk and carry no more than a first name and an initial. Nothing on this site asks you for a review, and nothing you type here becomes one; they arrive with names already shortened.
7. Your rights and contact
UK data protection law says you can find out what personal data is held on you, have it corrected or erased, and object to it being used at all. Because this site keeps so little, a request is most likely to be about an order, and orders are held by Tyres.co.uk; whatever it concerns, send it through the contact page. This policy can change, and this page always carries the current version, so it is worth a fresh look now and then.
